Boot Dusseldorf 2019

Boat Show Review

Celebrating its 50th year anniversary Boot Dusseldorf opened its doors to a host of industry leaders and specialists from the yachting and watersports world. One of the biggest, if not the biggest indoor show, Boot is a spectacular event showcasing everything from Seabob’s to superyachts, with live demonstrations and of course not forgetting the latest launches, which this year saw the likes of the Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht, and the Princess F45 debut. We were there on Saturday, day one of the show to see first hand the latest from the yachting world.

The show is expected to welcome over 250,000 visitors through its doors, where over 1900 exhibitors are presented across 18 themed areas, with 5 halls dedicated to the motorboat sector. In total showcasing more than 250 shipyards, dealers and importers, and covering everything from dinghies and sports boats, to day cruisers and cabin boots, alongside large luxury yachts.

Expertly organized and easily accessible, it’s not hard to see why Boot Dusseldorf is so popular. New yacht owners are catered for, alongside experienced yachties in the form of expert advice and exhibitions. For us, one day was not long enough to see everything that was on offer, and from what we saw this year Boot, 2020 definitely warrants a two-day visit.

One of our favourite exhibitors will come as no surprise to those familiar with the sophistication and finesse of Sanlorenzo. Everything about the Sanlorenzo’s experience was luxurious, sleek and stylish completely on point with their design philosophy and brand. Sunseeker were incredibly welcoming across all of their stands, no pre-booking required and their hospitality invited a warm and relaxed atmosphere amongst those looking to buy, as well as industry specialists. The Ferretti Group, like many of the stands, required tickets to be booked in advance and during our visit seemed to be lacking some of the energised atmospheres that was apparent in many of the other exhibitors, although the Riva 66′ Ribelle made enough of a statement on its own with its beautiful quintessential Riva style.

Princess Yachts made a notable impact with the breadth of their range presenting a strong 10 yacht line-up showcasing the global launch of the spacious F45, the exhilarating V78 right up to the striking Princess Y85.

There is certainly something for everyone at Boot.
